About American Leather
Founded by engineers in 1990, American Leather was established on the belief that no customer should have to wait three months for customized furniture. Determined to redefine industry standards, the company built its reputation on speed, quality, and innovation, reducing lead times while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship. What began as a small team in a borrowed facility has grown into a 350,000 square-foot factory in Dallas, Texas, with more than 700 employees. While the scale of operations has expanded, American Leather measures its true success through continuous innovation, technological advancements, and strong partnerships with retail customers. The company remains dedicated to maintaining U.S. manufacturing jobs, and delivering on the needs of both retailers and consumers.

American Leather
As a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council, American Leather is deeply committed to environmentally responsible practices throughout its products and manufacturing operations. This commitment begins at the foundation of each frame, crafted from wood harvested from sustainable forests and precision-engineered to minimize waste. Any wood scraps that remain are recycled or repurposed, while leathers are treated with water-based pigments. Since 2014, American Leather has exclusively used foam, leather, fabric, and Ultrasuede materials free from fire retardants, reinforcing its dedication to healthier, more sustainable products. Additional initiatives, such as automatic energy-saving light systems and company-wide recycling efforts, capture American Leather’s ongoing mission of sustainability.
